Admission Requirements

Prerequisites

An undergraduate degree in any discipline, with equivalent coursework to a minor in computer science (programming, discrete math, data structures and algorithms) and demonstrated strong mathematical and statistical proficiency.

The Accelerated Master’s (4+1) Program allows motivated students, with departmental approval, to begin a master’s degree while completing their bachelor’s.

Applicants must have completed the following or equivalent courses with a grade of B+ or higher in each, and must have a cumulative GPA above 3.6:

1. Programming Languages and Techniques (CIS 1200)

2. Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science (CIS 1600)

3. Data Structures and Algorithms (CIS 1210)

4. Probability (ESE 3010 or STAT 4300)

5. Machine Learning (CIS 5200 or CIS 5190)
